ACNL Leadership Scholarship/Fellowship/Grant
In support of leadership excellence and lifelong learning, ACNL sponsors academic scholarships and fellowships annually for our members.
Academic Scholarships—awarded to nurse leaders pursuing graduate degrees in nursing or fields supporting health care leadership (i.e. MN, MSN, MBA, MPH, DNSc, DNP, PhD).
Leadership Fellowships—awarded to nurse leaders who may or may not have an advanced degree, but who are interested in pursuing concentrated studies in an area of health care that will enhance leadership skills such as AONE Center for Nursing Leadership Program, Premiere Healthcare Executive Fellowship at Kellogg Business School or Legislative Internship.
Research Scholarships—awarded to a graduate student conducting a research project as part of their academic degree. The scholarship would help fund their research expenses.
ACNL will award three $5,000 scholarships and one $7,500 scholarship this year!
Our longtime partners will award two additional scholarships:

Nurses' Float Scholarship
The Nurses' Float Scholarship Fund was created by Bare Root, Inc., a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, from funds remaining from the Nurse's Float which appeared in the 2013 Rose Parade. ACNL, in partnership with Bare Root, Inc., presents the Nurses' Float Scholarship annually. This is an academic scholarship awarded to a registered nurse pursuing either an ADN to BSN or BSN to MSN degree.
Membership in ACNL or California residency is NOT required to apply for the Nurse’s Float Scholarship.

Pamela Jane Nye Operation Scrubs New Entrepreneurial Nurse Scholarship
The Pamela Jane Nye Operation Scrubs (OPi) New Entrepreneurial Nurse Scholarship Award is a collaborative with the Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL). This grant money is funded by Operation Scrubs, Incorporated, a non-profit company (501c3) with a mission to educate and honor the advancement of nurse leaders entering the field of nurses in business. The American Heart / American Stroke Association holds in reserve, the funds in the Pamela Jane Nye Donor Advised Fund and holds the money securely until funds are released to the nurse recipient. The amount of the annual scholarship is $2,000.00.
Scholarships are awarded to working nurses interested in entrepreneurial work as evidence of advancing his/her career to promote healthcare products and/or services to hospitals, colleges, communities, and/or other nurses, as consultants, coaches, advisors or inventors. The nurse applicant at the time of application must be working a minimum 20 hours per week and have filed for Employer Identification Number (EIN) forms with the State of California Business Portal as a nurse owned business. The filing of an EIN is a demonstration of intent to proceed with business development and implementation.
